TERMS & CONDITIONS
Article 14 of the Welfare of Animals (Transport) order 1997 requires that we provide the information below.
You will be liable to cover the cost of repair for any damage caused by your horse. You will have the opportunity to inspect the lorry before the journey and agree existing damage as arguments will not be entered into on return. Any of your belongings taken on the journey are entirely your responsibility.
We advise you to insure your horse for transportation. We also advise that you place travel boots, tail bandage and a poll guard on your horse. We accept that some horses do not like to wear such equipment and it is at your discretion if you wish to omit some or all of this equipment.
The driver takes all reasonable precautions; however, in the event of an accident you are personally liable for your horse in the event of injury or damage sustained to or by your horse.
For insurance purposes we ask that you let us load your horse for you. Should you wish to load your horse yourself please note that you will not be covered under the terms of our insurance.
Should it not be possible to load your horse a call out fee will be charged which will cover mileage already travelled and the time taken attempting to load your horse.
Should your horse be dangerously unsettled we reserve the right to refuse to transport the horse and a call out fee will still be charged.
Children under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times, especially during loading/unloading.
For a quote we require the address or post code of the pick up and drop off locations. Prices quoted are based on an approximate estimation of distance to be travelled, but the price is a firm quote unless circumstances dictate that we have to take a much longer route. Mileage is calculated based on a round trip from our location in Macclesfield, Cheshire to transport your horse and then back to Macclesfield.
Waiting time is charged at £7 per hour.
We can carry a limited amount of tack and other equipment but insurance for these items is your responsibility.
We require a deposit of 10% when you book.
Payment (less deposit already paid) is due on the day of transport. Cash is the preferred payment method. Cheques will only be accepted with a valid cheque guarantee card. We cannot take payment by credit card.
Due to EU legislation horses should travel with their passport.
ALL BOOKINGS MUST BE CONFIRMED BY PHONE 24 HOURS BEFORE THE JOURNEY.
Please print this page, sign and date below to accept these terms and conditions, and bring with you on the day of your journey.
